A bit more about me and my diets…

I have been meaning to write this for a while, but where to start! For most of my life I had been a size 8, skinny and loved it, I danced quite a lot and in hindsight that is what helped to keep the weight off, fast forward a couple of years on, dancing put behind me and I found myself looking in the mirror and thinking OMG, who is this person looking back at me? I actually couldn’t recognise myself anymore and I am struggling to even see how I got this way! Actually scratch that, cake, sweets and chocolate, that’s how I got this way. Added to the fact I got diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome back in 2009, my body is literally fighting with me to put on weight, the important thing is that I am fighting back! Even my blog title is a double entendre, nobody adores their diets do they, but I am trying to sort out my life and sort out a diet that I actually like, I have tried so many diets and none of them have worked!

Fast forward to the positives and I have now had a major wake up call, I have started eating a lot healthier and I have come up with my own healthy eating plan using Asda meal replacement shakes and Slim Fast meal replacement bars and then having 100 calories of vegetables a day for dinner and some meat or fish with that occasionally. My snacks throughout the day are varied, I love crack- a jack rice cracker crisps at the moment and Ryvita Original is amazing with  extra low fat soft cheese and sauces or toppings on top of that as a bonus!

I am currently using an app via my Nokia Lumia called Fat Secret, it is measuring my calories per day and is the best app, in that it has sooo many different foods so I don’t have to manually enter anything, also you can change the serving sizes of nearly everything. So in summary of the app, you have a food diary, an exercise diary, diet calendar, weight tracker and restaurants and chains- so if you are out you can quickly type in your favourite food you would like to order on the menu and bam, it lets you know exactly how many calories per portion/ serving.

Anyway, what I want to say is, make sure that you have hope because I have lost 5pounds in 3 days so far through eating under 1000 calories a day, yet I feel full all the time and I am eating more veg and fruit than I ever did before and I am also having 2 litres of water a day which I find easier to break up into pints, which I just carry around with me!

I am hoping that in 4 weeks I will have a lost weight, especially around my middle, I look like I have a beer gut, but I don’t even drink beer!! Go figure! I also will pair this with at least 20 minutes of exercise 4 times a week, that I am starting next week!

Thank you for reading a bit about me, good luck to all those on diets too.
